Thanks for visiting the Chewy web site.
This all started in 1985 when the first Chewy, a Schock 35 was brought to Bayfield. We raced her for 11 years and then brought on Bruce Nimmer as a partner. With his help we proceeded to upgrade to our current Chewbacca, a N/M 50. We had no idea what we were getting into, but in the end it has been incredible. This boat was formerly Abracadabra, which won the Int'l 50 worlds in 1988. Eventually discarded by Doc Andrews for a new boat, we came upon her in a shed in Wisconsin.
Since then we have learned big boat sailing and have participated in some challenging racing. Thanks to a great team we have done well in the local racing scene and gone on to win our class in the IRC Natl's and the Chicago Mac.
